Another Big Year For ITA Collegiate Summer Circuit
This year 2,589 players participated in circuit events, the second highest participation total ever, just shy of last year's record of 2,624. The ITA thanks all of this year's Tournament and Circuit Directors, host sites and participants. And special thanks to National Summer Circuit Director Lin Loring of Indiana University.

NCAA Announces Dates Changes for 2008 NCAA Division II Championships Since the tennis championships will be conducted as a part of the Division II Sports Festival in Houston, Texas next year, the championship dates have been pushed back one week from the usual dates. More

The NCAA membership services staff provided this information on June 8 in response to questions submitted by the ITA pertaining to the May 3, 2007, NCAA Educational Column. The column focused on a (Division I) student-athlete's receipt of expenses from a nonprofessional sponsor of an event and payment based on performance. More

Audra Cohen and Virginia's Somdev Devvarman have been named the 2007 ITA National Players of the Year and Georgia's Luis Flores and John Isner and North Carolina's Sara Anundsen and Jenna Long are the ITA National Doubles Teams of the Year. Eleven new ITA Hall of Fame members were inducted May 23 in ceremonies in Athens, Ga.. The Class of 2007 included eight players, two coaches and one contributor. MaliVai Washington and Todd Martin were among this year's inductees. More

DecoTurf and Plexipave named the official tennis surfaces for the ITA
The ITA has named DecoTurf and Plexipave as the official tennis surfaces for its membership. Already the surfaces of choice for hundreds of colleges and universities throughout the country, DecoTurf and Plexipave will provide ITA member coaches an incentive to choose to play on their numerous multi-layer tennis court systems. More

Corwin named new Senior Director for Junior & Collegiate Competition by USTA
Timon Corwin, Kalamazoo College's men's tennis coach, men's athletics director, and director of the USTA Boys' 18 & 16 National Tennis Championships, has announced that he will be leaving Kalamazoo College at the end of the current tennis season. He will begin a position at the USTA Player Development Headquarters in Key Biscayne, Florida as senior director for junior and collegiate competition. More
