Doral Golf Resort and Spa in Miami. This four-day event featured numerous
clinics with some of tennis' top minds, informative meetings on issues

Sportwall Coaches Challenge
Sportwall International hosted a "Sportwall Coaches Challenge" at this
year's ITA Coaches Convention. The event's finals were rained out on Sunday, but
Sportwall International split the prize money, awarding each of the finalists
$100. Alabama's Daryl Greenan had the highest score in the preliminary

12/2/03 - This
appears in "Sight Lines" in the November 25 issue of Tennis Week. The
author is Jon Vegosen, who was All Big Ten on the Northwestern University
tennis team in 1973 and serves as vice chair of the USTA Collegiate
Committee and chair of its subcommittee, Preserving American Collegiate
USTA/ITA national award recipients for Community
Service and Campus Recreation
University of Delaware men's and women's tennis coach Laura Travis has been
named the national winner of the USTA/ITA Campus Recreation Award and Boise
State men’s tennis coach Greg Patton is the national winner of the USTA/ITA
Community Service Award. They were honored on December 12 at the ITA
Coaches Convention at the Doral Golf Resort and Spa in Miami, during the ITA
General Membership Meeting.

8/29/03 - Gene Sperling (University of Minnesota '82) was honored
as the winner of the 2003 ITA Achievement Award,
presented by Montblanc, on August 28 at Tennis Week's U.S. Open party at the
"92" Suite in New York. The ceremonies included (in photo/l-r) Tennis
Week's Gene Scott, Colleen Goudie of Montblanc, tennis legend Stan Smith, Sperling and ITA Executive

and Minnesota's Avery Ticer have been named the 2003 ITA Summer Circuit
Players of the Year.

ITA/Arthur Ashe, Jr. Leadership and Sportsmanship Award winners Trevor Smith
of Princeton and Kristen Stubbs of Virginia Tech were honored on Aug. 24 at
the home of former New York City Mayor David Dinkins, along with the USA
Tennis NJTL Arthur Ashe essay contest winners.

Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, the second of three national
championships for collegiate tennis this season, will be hosted by the
University of Michigan November 6-9.
Another record-breaking year for ITA Collegiate Summer Circuit

2,005 players participated in this year's ITA Collegiate Summer Circuit,
shattering the record of 1,662 set last year. The ITA would like to thank

6/5/03 - Stanford's Amber Liu and Illinois' Amer Delic, the NCAA singles
champions, have been named the 2003 ITA National Players of the Year.
Team goes unbeaten in Japan
6/16/03 - The ITA-USA All-Star Team picked up two victories in weekend matches against Waseda University and the Japan Collegiate All-Star Team in
Tokyo. On Sunday the ITA-USA All-Stars came from behind to beat the Japan All-Stars 4-3, and they edged Waseda 4-3 on Saturday. The ITA-USA All-Stars were taking part in the Centennial Celebration of Waseda's men's and women's varsity tennis
programs. ITA National Player of the Year Amer Delic (pictured) of Illinois
played a key role in Saturday's win over Waseda.
